Summer Sampler Finished!

Summer Sampler by The Prairie Schooler.
Stitched on 32ct Jobelan 'Mystic' by Polstitches.

I am really happy how this has turned out!
Thank you so much Lynette for lending me the chart, very much appreciated!

I am now going to try and finish up Midnight Enchanter next.

Lots of Updates.

I forgot to update my blog last week so this entry is rather picture heavy.
I finished my bookmark for the exchange in my ILCS group. I will post a picture once my partner Lyn has received it.

First up, Midnight Enchanter:

A close up of the area I am working on:

Slowly but surely it is getting there lol.

Next up Summer Sampler:

This is nearly finished and it would of been finished except I didn't have one of the colours to do some of the alphabet but I am going to pick it up in town tomorrow, if I remember!

Next up Dragon's Lair:

I am stitching on this here and there but will devote more time to it when Midnight Enchanter is finished.

Last but not least my HAED, Spirit:

It is starting to look better now that the design is beginning to take shape. I am giving it a rest this week and stitching on my other HAED, The Green Man.

Yesterday was Mother's Day here in the UK and I got very spoilt.

I did have four boxes of chocolates but I ate one yesterday lol.

It is official now that Colin is being made redundant at the end of April, we thought it was May but they moved it forward a month. Can't say I am looking forward to it but hopefully, somewhere down the line he can find another job.

Weekly Update

Last Saturday was my groups virtual stitch in on ILCS. I managed to get quite a bit done as well as over the week.
First up is Summer Sampler:

Hopefully this will be finished within a couple of weeks.

Next up Dragons Lair:

I did the back stitching on the dragon which took me longer than I thought it would. The back stitch lines on the chart are not that clear. I have another three of these to do as well as the main dragon.

Last but not least my Spirit Storykeep by HAED:

I just can not seem to take a decent picture of it, this photo just does not do it justice.

I also started Lynns bookmark for the ILCS bookmark exchange as well as a Geisha bookmark for myself.

Weekly Update

I am a few days late updating as I normally do it on a Monday or Tuesday.
First up is Midnight Enchanter:

I did some back stitching around the head and cape area, the mauve metallic up top, which there is still a lot to do and some stitching down the left hand side.

Prairie Schooler Summer Sampler is coming along nicely. I have run out of thread for two of the colours and need to get into town to get some more so I shall be putting this on hold for a few days.

I have also stitched on both HAEDs but will update them when it looks like something has been done on them lol.

Last Sunday was  the Old Town Preservation Parade in conjunction with the Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras (sp).
Section 5 Drummers were asked to lead the parade.

I'm on the left with the red wig and top hat.

Colin, my partner, and me. Yes I know, smoking and all. Colin gave up and now I am going to attempt it too when my current bacca has run out.
I do not smoke in the house but in the back garden. Haven't been smoking too long, gave up years ago and restarted last year. I have children and grand children to consider hence a smoke free home.

Halloween Fairy Finished!

Woohoo, Halloween Fairy by Miribilia is finished! That is why I am a day late with my updates as I wanted to get it finished.

A close up of some of the beads.

I love the way it turned out and am pleased that I swapped out the original fabric. That now makes two WIP's finished this year. I am not going to start anything new yet as still want to get two more WIP's finished before I do and one of them includes Midnight Enchanter.

I also worked on Summer Sampler by Prairie Schooler:

This picture is much better than my last one I took of it as it shows the pretty colour of the fabric. I am nearly half way done with it now.

Over the weekend, Colin's mum and dad came down for the weekend. Linda brought her stitching with her and it was really nice to stitch together for a few hours.

I screwed my face up as I looked at Colin taking the picture lol.
My Pansy Angel is in a silver frame but it looks white where the flash light caught on the frame.

Monday Update

The First part of last week, I worked on my Friendship Tea Sampler:

I finished up at a nice area to leave it for a while.

Last Friday I started Summer Sampler by Prairie Schooler. Lynette, from a Yahoo group I belong to, loaned me the chart seeing I had done the Autumn one back in 2010. Thank you so much Lynette!

This is what I have managed to do on it so far. The picture does not do justice to the fabric which is a minty green colour. I didn't have any 32ct white so substituted this one from Polstitches.

I also did 300 stitches on my HAED Spirit Storykeep and also stitched on my UFO for Evalina's oldest UFO Challenge.

A Finish and Midnight Enchanter

I finally finished my Prairie Schooler 'Autumn Leaves' last Sunday. It's not the kind of thing I usually like to stitch but I liked the words. It looks wonky where it came off the Q Snaps. It needs ironing and pulling into shape ;p

DSCF0611

I have a challenge going with Evalina where UFO's are concerned. The challenge is to finish my two UFO's before Evalina finishes 'Bless the House', 'Provence' and a UFO of her choice. The one that completes the challenge first, gets sent something from the other person.  My first one to finish is my Midnight Enchanter by Dimensions. Here is a before picture from when I last stitched on it:

And here's one after I finished on it on Sunday night:

I concentrated on the blue frock bit, here's a close up:

I'm going to try and stitch on it as much as possible. When this is finished and I mean 'when' lol, the second UFO will be my Celtic Summer. I am also trying to finish a crochet blanket for my third granddaughter of the year, who is due in the next two weeks or so!

So dear stitchers, please keep me motivated by your wonderful comments, they really do help and keep me stitching on it!

A Finish and Update

Yesterday I started and finished my ornament for my groups blind ornament exchange on ILCS. I am pleased how it turned out as I haven't stitched one of these little kits before.

I have nearly finished my Prairie Schooler Autumn Leaves Sampler.

And last but not least is my Lizzy Kate Christmas piece which I stitch on at my club on Sundays.

Photobucket

I have just started on his scarf so he looks a bit odd at the moment.

Give Away

I will be drawing the winner on Saturday!

Update and Give Away

Stitching

I have been working all week on my Prairie Schooler Autumn Leaves Sampler.

Photobucket

It looks a bit wonky as it came off my Q Snaps and I didn't pull it straight for the photo.
I am about half way through it now.

Sunday I went to my stitching group. I didn't get too much done on my LK piece but every stitch counts!

Photobucket

At least it should be finished in time to be framed for Christmas lol.

Give Away.

6 Skeins of Polstitches  Over Dyed Dragon Floss is up for grabs.

Photobucket

To be in with a chance of winning, please leave a comment on this post. I will announce the winner next week.
These are beautiful threads to stitch with. I will put all the names into a bowl and let one of the twins pull a name out. Good luck to all who enter.

Bookmarks, New Stash and Stitching!

Bookmark Exchange

First I would like to thank Denise in Saudi Arabia for my lovely package on the ILCS Bookmark Swap.

DSCF0563

The bookmark is lovely and my photo does not do it justice. It is finished off so well. I love the floss and can't wait to try the herbal teas as that is what I drink mostly :)

This is the package I sent to Judi. I used the photo she took as I did not take one of all the package just the bookmark.

New Charts

I don't buy new stash very often especially this year as my stitching has been very up and down. I had some money for my Birthday and treated myself to four Lizzie Kate Charts and one by Prairie Schooler.

My tastes in charts have really changed. I would never have considered doing this sampler before. I think a lot of the time, the picture on a chart or how it is displayed on online shops do not do it justice and it isn't until you start stitching it that you realize how nice they really are.

Stitching Update

I couldn't wait to start the Prairie Schooler chart and I am stitching it on 28ct although the recommended was 32 ct, which I didn't have in white. It will just be a little bigger.

Photobucket

I am into seasonal stitching at the moment and enjoying every stitch.

My other update is a Lizzie Kate piece.

Photobucket

It is stitching up lovely. I am stitching on him now for the two hours I am at my stitching club on a Sunday. As long as it's finished for Christmas as we tend to talk a lot lol.

And Finally!

I have not forgotten about the give away. I will be putting it on my blog very soon. I am in the process of sorting something out for it.
