Busy Busy Busy, Bee!

I have had a busy couple of weeks with different things going on.

It was my granddaughters six Birthday a few days ago.

Annie is mad about My Little Pony and she loved her cake which her mummy had made for her.

My grandchildren all loved the face painter that Annie had at her party.

The following day, I had some of the grandchildren visiting.

My little Dolly Dawg got in on the action too!

Last Sunday was Pirates Day here in Hastings. We still hold the Guinness World Record for the most pirates in one place. The town was absolutely packed with pirates from all over  and with lots going on. Great fun being a pirate as well as drumming :)

------------
On to my stitching. I have half finished 'Wrong Side' by Imaginating.

Before:

Now:

Stitched one over two with Week's Dyes and a bit of DMC. I have now rotated to my Green Man HAED.

Before:

And now page two finished!

Loving how it is starting to look.

I finally finished the second side of my sunflower biscornu.

I just need to find time to put it together. I have put a few beads into lavender Fields but not enough to take a picture.

I brought a Zenbroidery to have a go at. I have only really done embroidery on things like my Castles in the Air by Papillon Stitches, which I enjoy doing. This is freestyle so I can learn as I go along and it will be great for using up odds and ends of thread.

Last but not least a photo of my twin boys and me took at Annie's party. They are eighteen and tower over me now.

------------

I have gone into business with my friend Phil and we are both really busy crafting so we can open our Etsy shop.

Below is a small sample of the beautiful things Phil makes with wood. I will be crafting jewellery and needle minders to start with.

Stitching Update and Victorian Walk

I have had a fairly good stitching week. First up is Green Man. I have finished my rotation on him.

Before:

Now:

I am really pleased with how this is starting to look. I just have to finish the column then that is page two done!

I have two new small starts.  I just stitch on these whenever. First up is my sunflower biscornu:

This is the back. It is straight but it kinked when my Old Man took the photo lol.

This is what it will look like when finished:

For those interested, the pattern is from www.sewandso.co.uk under 'Soda charts'.

My other small is a Mill Hill Kit:

It will look like this when finished:

It is called Lavender Fields.

I started a new kit for my rotation.

I haven't included an update as there's not much to see at the moment.

Victorian Walk on the Pier.

An informal walk  last Sunday, was set up for a Victorian style stroll on the pier obviously in Victorian clothes or steampunk.

Quite a few people attended as you can see by the above photo. It was a beautiful sunny day and rather hot!

A few of us thought it would be fun to recreate an old Hastings postcard.

The original version.

Our version.

Riding 'side saddle' on the carousel.

It really was a fun day!

Stitching Update

I finished another section of Castles in the Air by Papillon Creations.  It is half of part 7 done.

Close up of finished part.

Overall.

I purchased three Mill Hill kits from sewandso. Two were half price and one had 10% off, bargain!

I have started one of them:

I always think they look weird without the beads and backstitching on lol.

I have dug out one of my HAED's (Heaven and Earth Designs) out, The Green Man. This is what he looks like before I start stitching on him again:

And what he will look like when completed:

I am thinking of either purchasing another HAED chart or kitting up a Mystic Stitch chart that I have. I am very undecided which to do!

I have only recently taken up stitching again and before that, Yahoo stitching groups were very active but now most of them seem to have died a death and not many people post. I'm not sure why this is? Has Facebook killed the groups or people not stitching anymore? It is such a shame too. I also have noticed that not many stitchers blog or comment on blogs either. Again, such a shame as lots of inspiration and encouragement lost.  I am thankful for the groups that I do belong to that do have people that post be it sporadic on one or two of them. I miss doing exchanges as well. Oh well, I guess times change huh.

To those who do read or comment on my blog, I really do appreciate it xxx

Green Man and Natures Vision.

Not had the chance to do much stitching this last week. I am hoping to remedy that over the next few days though :-)

First up, The Green man Cernunnus.

Before:

After:

As you can see, I have done quite a lot on it since the last update.

Next up, Natures Vision.

I have started the second wing and put a few of the stars on.

Green Man Cernunnos

I have worked exclusively on this over the last week.

Here is a before photo:

I managed to finish page one:

This is what it looks like now:

It is so nice to get onto the actual foreground instead of doing all the background!

I have not decided what I will be moving onto next though.
