Green Man and Natures Vision.

Not had the chance to do much stitching this last week. I am hoping to remedy that over the next few days though :-)

First up, The Green man Cernunnus.

Before:

After:

As you can see, I have done quite a lot on it since the last update.

Next up, Natures Vision.

I have started the second wing and put a few of the stars on.

HAED and Exchange

Last Thursday I met up with Denise who now lives in Saudi Arabia but originally comes from Hastings in the UK.  We had lunch at Waterfalls in Hastings Town centre. We talked so much! It was so lovely to see Denise again. I also gave her an exchange we were in last year on my ILCS Yahoo group. It was for a Summer ornament, but I stitched her two seeing she waited so long for it. We had previously arranged that I would give them to her when we met next. It makes it more personal :-)

I have neglected my HAED's lately, so over the last week I worked on Dragon Moon.

The picture does not do it justice as it does not show how sparkly it is due to the Petite Treasure Braid.

This is how it will look when it is finished.

The chickens are coming along nicely. All three of them (Doris, Dolly and Dotty)  are all laying eggs now. They taste so much better then shop eggs.

Dragon's Lair Finished!

Woo hoo, I can't believe that I have actually finished it! I sat up until late last night and all this afternoon finishing off putting the beads on it. This is for my son Joshua.

Here are some close ups so you can see the details better.

Now onto Natures Vision for my other son Ashley.

Lizzie Kate Summer Sampler Finished

Stitched on 28ct Pale Green Jobelan

I switched out the blues on the house for purples and took liberties with the sunflower head as well as I didn't have the called for colours.

I used a clear bead for the door nob.

I am really pleased how it turned out. I have the other three seasons to do too.

Natures Vision and Summer Sampler

Last week was a good week as far as my stitching was concerned. First up is Natures Vision.
Here is a before photo:

And this is what it looks like now:

I got the whole wing finished! So it will be onto the next wing when I pick it up next.

I got some more done on Summer Sampler too:

I really am enjoying stitching on this one as it is bright and colourful.

Dragon's Lair and Summer Sampler

I  worked on Dragon's Lair and Summer Sampler   last week.
Here is a 'before' photo of Dragons Lair:

And a 'now' photo.

A close up:

I really love how colourful this piece is. It is for one of my twins Joshua. Not too much stitching left and then 100's of beads to sew on.

And lastly but not least Summer Sampler by Lizzie Kate.

I always think that LK charts always look so much better stitched than the photo on the front of the chart.

Lizzie Kate Summer Sampler

I have been really busy this week and I have not managed to stitch as much as I would of liked. But every stitch counts! I swapped blues for purples on the house as I did not fancy the blues :-)

We have been very busy in the garden making way for our new pets as well as preparing the garden for growing our own veggies.

Colin (on the right) and our friend Phil having a break whilst reading instructions and Lindita Stinky Rita being nosey lol.

One chicken coop!

Hopefully we will be getting our three chickens over the next week to ten days. We will also be adding a run to the coop but we have been advised to keep the chickens in the coop for the first 3 to 4 weeks.

Phil made us a lovely bird house!

Birdhouse and Coop in situ.

Colin also put together a frame for either the runner beans or peas.

There is still absolutely tons to do in the garden. And I have to say that my house resembles a green house as we have propagators on nearly every window sill in the house lol.

Stitching of Different Kinds!

I finally got around to doing a little stitching. I picked up Castles in the Air. The piece is getting big now and hard to take a good picture.

Here is a close up of the are I am working on:

Lots of embroidery stitches. I love to do them but find it slow going.

Next up, I finished a crochet blanket for my granddaughter Doullie.

It is quite large. I did flower granny squares. I sewed them together using a chain stitch and then did trebles in rounds around the outside.

I have also been doing some knitting.

I love these two colours together, they are so pretty!

I am making boot cuffs! If I like they way they turn out, I can see myself knitting several different designs and probably a few in black and red for when the drumming starts up!

I have decided to grow lots of different veg this year, so spent the last couple of days preparing the garden ready for sowing in a couple of weeks. I will be growing a lot of the produce in containers as it is surprising just what you can grow in them. I have seeds in window propagators for tumbling tomatoes, chives and oregano. Tomorrow I will be staring seeds off for sweet peas (flowers) as they will climb nicely amongst green beans. I am going to grow spuds in bags and have beetroot baskets as well.  I am not sure whether we will plant carrots this year as I don't think we have time to try and find some old planks on the cheap or free to make raised beds for them, but who knows.

This time next year hopefully we will have built a chicken coop and we want three chickens which will produce around  10 to 15 eggs a week. They are cheap to feed and make funny pets.

Knitted Teddy

Things have been really hectic and I can not remember the last time I was able to cross stitch other than the fact it was before Christmas! My son has moved in with me with his two small children and stitching around them is impossible. It drives me batty not to be able to do anything so I got the old knitting needles out and knitted my granddaughter a little teddy.

I am not 100 percent happy with how it's head looks but it will suffice. I guess practice makes perfect. I am currently crocheting a granny square blanket  for the above mentioned granddaughter. She loves to sit with one over her whilst she is watching telly. I am doing it all in pastel shades. There is not too much left to do. I am sewing all the squares together at the moment and then that just leaves putting a border on it.
