Lizzie Kate Finish

This is the February Lizzie Kate stamp. It's my first design of hers and I really enjoyed stitching it. I have ordered buttons for the flowers and have the perfect fabric for it for the backing. I just need to get some apt ribbon for it which I am hoping to get tomorrow when I go into town. Hopefully I will be able to finish it off properly by the weekend.

Weekend roundup

I had a good stitching weekend. I did a few more sections on my Sweetheart Tree sampler. I'm just over halfway through it now.

Whilst I was going through things in my bedroom, I came across a bag of charts that I had totally forgotten about. I won a bulk lot of of e-bay and there was several Lizzie Kate ones in there. I have never stitched any of hers and Rene rather persuaded me to start this one seeing she is also stitching the set lol. This one is a February one that she bought out a couple of years ago. I have to be honest and say I am really enjoying it and have the intention of stitching them all. I have to try and find some tiny buttons to finish it off though as the charts were used when I won them. I am stitching it in regular DMC and didnt have the called for fabric so I am stitching it on pale rose linen which I thought was apt for Valentines day. I really do feel like Rene and I are on a role reversal lol. This is the second start for me in a week and Rene's been working on her BAP Feathers!

On my group I Love Cross Stitch, there has been talk of needle minders. I used to have a ceramic one and accidentally broke it. Rene made this one for me last year. The piccy is a bit blurry where it is small and was hard to take a clear piccy in close up. I do not attach it to my stitching like some people do. I just have it by my while I'm stitching which works very well for me.

I did get a few stitches in Summer Dragon but not enough to take a picture. I also stitched on a UFO last Tuesday as well. So all in all a good stitching week for me.

A new start

I started this today and it's called By The Sea Sampler by The Sweetheart Tree. It is a kit I got from Gayle when she was my Secret Sister. I am just loving stitching it. I just love the little crabs. The sampler is nice and small. I needed a break from all the BAP's I am currently working on.

Summer Dragon update

Yeah! Page two is now finished! I really love the colours on this one. It's still painfully slow going but saying that, I am getting on better with the blending filament. The braids fine.
I am going to try and get this finished this year by making it my main project along with Celtic Summer.

I had my abdominal scan on Thursday and it was confirmed that I have four large gallstones so I have now got to have my gallbladder removed. I don't know when yet as I have to go on the waiting list but hopefully it won't be too long.

Over the weekend my internet wouldn't stay connected for more than 2 or 3 minutes at a time and I lost my phone line too. Turns out the box in the house was rusty and condensation had got in it. Oh well, at least it is fixed now lol.

My first finish of 2009!

And what a finish it is too because it is for my darling twin boys bedroom! Click on it to bigify the photo lol.

Its a kit from Dimensions called The Sorceror and I also have the sister kit to it called The Soreress to do for them in the near future.
At the moment I need to concentrate on my BAP's lol.

No stitching

As the header suggests, I have done no stitching this last week. It's been mainly due to the weather and the temperatures reaching -12. My arthiritus plays up when its so cold and I can't hold my stitching properly. On the upside I have my hospital appointment through for next Thursday for my abdominal scan and him indoors has booked off time off work to come with me.

I got my fabric and floss of the month from Polstitches. This is my one luxury I am allowing myself on my stash starvation and all will get used over the coming year.

Dimensions wizard update

I've spent most of the day stitching, on and off lol. I've actually finished all the stitching on the twins wizard and just have the backstitching, french knots and cording to do. I've never made a cord before from floss so how hard can it be? hehehe.
