And yes they are small lol, but a finish is a finish and I have had hardly any this year.
First up is a Christmas Tree ornament. It was in TWOCS magazine and now I have finished it, I am not sure if I like it.
It is done on plastic canvas and uses little buttons for tree decorations.
Second finish is the cover kit from the same magazine:
It is a Margaret Sherry design.
Here it is in the actual card. Not sure what I am going to do with it, keep it or send it to someone!
I have started another little ornament, an owl this time. Just recently I have started to have a 'thing' about owls..........hmmmmm I can see a new collection starting up now lol.
Congrats on both finishes! If you aren't happy with the first one, the only thing I would suggest is adding a couple pieces of coordinating felt and lay the tree on top of that. It would just add some more color to it.
ReplyDeleteI think Nancy's idea of felt is a good one. Maybe like a dark green. Love the button idea.
ReplyDeleteThe card is absolutely adorable!
Congrats on your finishes. It's a great feeling to achieve a Happy Dance, no matter how big or small it is.
ReplyDeleteThe card is gorgeous! I love Margaret Sherry's designs.
I also agree with the felt suggestion. Maybe also adding some beads or French Knots... or backstitching in a garland using braid for a bit of sparkle...
The ornament is cute Kelly, like the button accents. Give it away to someone if you don't like it.
ReplyDeleteThese are both adorable ... as for the tree ... I love little things like this. Wouldn't they look great on a package or attached to a homebaked gift. I would be very happy to get one of these!
ReplyDeleteI love your "small" finishes!!
ReplyDeleteThe tree is cute.I like the buttons. The felt is a good idea or as a gift tag too. The card is so cute. I love Margaret sherry's designs. If you getting into owls, join the OakHaven group. Tonia is doing an owl SAL for the year. A new owlper month. They are soooo cute.
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute.... congratulations on the finishes!!!
ReplyDeleteI still really like your Christmas tree ornament. I do like the idea of the felt to the back of it but I really don't feel that it needs it. But if you wanted to add the felt, bring it out past the tree itself and shape the branches like a regular Christmas tree version would have of the pointed end. It might just draw the tree together more for you. Just and idea as I still like it as is. The card is beautiful too. Love Margaret Sherry designs. Great stitching!!
ReplyDeleteThe card is cute. I agree that the tree needs something and perhaps the felt that others have suggested may do the trick. Otherwise, give it away.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your finishes, love the one with the bird.

You're absolutely right, a finish is a finish! Cute finishes by the way :), especially the Margaret Sherry.
ReplyDeleteKelly, the ornie is cute and so is the mouse & birdie. Of course a finish is a finish no matter how small!
ReplyDeleteCongrats - both are cute!
ReplyDeleteBoth your finishes are lovely Kelly. I love the Margaret Sherry card. So cute.
ReplyDeleteI love the Margaret Sherry card. It is so cute. The tree needs more color. I would put some kind of color behind it.
ReplyDeleteKelly, I love your taste in stitching! Everything is wonderful, and I have the same Mirabilia kit. Haven't yet started it, but yours is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed seeing your pix on your other blog of you, your husband, kids and grandkids. I couldn't believe you're old enough to be a grandma! You're so young! And you and your husband are a very good-looking couple!
I love your little tree with the buttons, so cute
ReplyDeleteand that MS will make an adorable card
I like the second one in the card. The tree with buttons is cute too. Chris B from ILCS
