Weekly Update

I am a few days late updating as I normally do it on a Monday or Tuesday.
First up is Midnight Enchanter:

I did some back stitching around the head and cape area, the mauve metallic up top, which there is still a lot to do and some stitching down the left hand side.

Prairie Schooler Summer Sampler is coming along nicely. I have run out of thread for two of the colours and need to get into town to get some more so I shall be putting this on hold for a few days.

I have also stitched on both HAEDs but will update them when it looks like something has been done on them lol.

Last Sunday was  the Old Town Preservation Parade in conjunction with the Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras (sp).
Section 5 Drummers were asked to lead the parade.

I'm on the left with the red wig and top hat.

Colin, my partner, and me. Yes I know, smoking and all. Colin gave up and now I am going to attempt it too when my current bacca has run out.
I do not smoke in the house but in the back garden. Haven't been smoking too long, gave up years ago and restarted last year. I have children and grand children to consider hence a smoke free home.

  2. Wonderful progress! I love Midnight Enchanter! And your sommur sampler is coming along beautifully! Well done! Good luck with the quitting smoking! I quit a few years ago, and stitching helped me! I quit cold turkey, and spent a whole week stitching to combat cravings by keeping my fingers busy! You can doi it!

  12. Hi Kelly, Love your Midnight Enchanter. You have made more progress. Yay!!! Your summer sampler is coming along nicely also. Good Luck with quitting smoking. It is not easy. I quit 4 years ago. And that was when I picked my stitching up again that I had not done in quite a number of years. So when you decide to quit, have lots of stitching supplies handy and alot of drumming to do. At least for the first couple of months.

  15. Your Midnight Enchanter is so beautiful, the colours really pop on the fabric. Good luck with quitting smoking, a friend of mine is quitting and she's getting so much stitching done as she keeps picking it up everytime she wants a ciggie!

  16. I think your stitching projects are looking wonderful!

You look great in the parade.

As far as you quitting smoking, whether you started last year or 10 years ago, I know how hard it is to quit. I quit, with the help of "the patch" starting in September of last year...so I haven't had a cigarette since September 19, 2011. My DH quit the same way starting the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year. He uses his last patch today.
