A Finish and Midnight Enchanter

I finally finished my Prairie Schooler 'Autumn Leaves' last Sunday. It's not the kind of thing I usually like to stitch but I liked the words. It looks wonky where it came off the Q Snaps. It needs ironing and pulling into shape ;p

I have a challenge going with Evalina where UFO's are concerned. The challenge is to finish my two UFO's before Evalina finishes 'Bless the House', 'Provence' and a UFO of her choice. The one that completes the challenge first, gets sent something from the other person.  My first one to finish is my Midnight Enchanter by Dimensions. Here is a before picture from when I last stitched on it:

And here's one after I finished on it on Sunday night:

I concentrated on the blue frock bit, here's a close up:

I'm going to try and stitch on it as much as possible. When this is finished and I mean 'when' lol, the second UFO will be my Celtic Summer. I am also trying to finish a crochet blanket for my third granddaughter of the year, who is due in the next two weeks or so!

So dear stitchers, please keep me motivated by your wonderful comments, they really do help and keep me stitching on it!

UFO Day

I worked on a UFO today seeing it was UFO day on ILCS. I am going to try and work on a UFO every Tuesday lol. This one is called Guardian Angel from Janlynn. I started her years ago when I first started stitching. Hopefully she will be the second of my UFO's to be finished.

Margaret and I am implementing a stash diet for 2009 and I am looking forward to finishing my WIP's, UFO's and things I already have in my stash pile. Money is tight and I really would love to do the things I already have rather than them just collecting dust and never seeing the light of day. It really would be lovely if others were to join us. Anyone out there also up to the challenge? lol.

My UFO Challenge.

I've decided to set my own UFO challenge. There are a few reasons for this including that they are really nice and a lot of work has gone into them already, and also there is a recession and we are begining to feel it especially right on top of Christmas. I will carry on stitching on my normal WIPs but add time each week to work on a UFO. I also will not be starting any more large projects except for Circe the Sorceress. Small projects are allowed providing I have the stuff to do them. Personally for me, I can not see the point of spending money on new stash when I already have plenty started to keep me going for a long time. Our money can be spent else where, where it is really needed, like on the kids and Grandkids for Xmas :).
I already started my challenge and picked out my smallest UFO.

It is called Fantastic Creatures and is from the Dimensions Petite Gold range. I started this when the twins were about four, they are ten now lol but they still want it finished for their bedroom. So I have promised them faithfully that I will finish it as fast as I can!

The rest of the week I have spent stitching on Celtic Summer and am about halfway through it now.
