Monday update

I spent my weekend stitching time mainly on my Castles in the Air Sal. I am halfway through part 4 now.

Here is a close of the peacock and fountain........the fountain still needs to be back stitched.

Clicking on the pictures will enlarge them.

I also put a few stitches in my piggy biscornu which is almost finished now.
I did start on my first HAED but it did not go well for me. I used the suggested 2 threads over 1 on 25ct evenweave and it looked shit bumpy. Plus my eyes were streaming due to eye strain. I am having problems frogging it as well. Maybe I should send it to Rene La Frog to do it seeing she loves the little buggers so much ;p! I am determined to stitch it, its the Spirit Story Keep BTW, so might stitch it on 18ct aida instead.

I am also running a seasonal ornament exchange on my group and I am looking forward to stitching one for my partner whoever it will be as I haven't done an exchange in a long time.

Lastly, since my last blog update I have done one more crochet square for my throw. I am getting behind on that as well lol.

  1. Castles is so pretty, like how it pops on the white fabric. Like the colors on the crochet square. Good luck with the HAED, getting ready to start mine and you are scaring me.

  3. Your Castles looks great. I'm just a bit farther. I didn't like the water in the fountain because it didn't stand out well. I added a bit of sparkly filament and like it better now. As far as the HAED? I hated the 25 ct. too. I do mine and the Mystic's on 22 ct aida with 2 threads. I like it much better.

  4. Castles looks gorgeous! Try your HAED on a larger ct. - I think you'll like it much better. Crochet square looks good, too.

Your Castles is lovely! I like seeing all the different color combinations. Hang in there on the HAED. My DD created her own from a screen shot of a game and is doing it on 18-count. It will take her awhile, but she's persisting which is great for a 14-year-old.

  6. Looking just great on Castles.
You are where I am... maybe I should work on it tonight and finish up part 4. Thanks for the motivation. :)

  7. Castles is looking gorgeous. You're are braver than me - I don't think I'll ever try a HAED! I remember stitching on a RR that was like one of them, and it drove me crazy...

  8. Castles looks great Kelly! I'm still piddling away at Part 3. I realized I was off a bit on a small part so had to rip it & re-stitch. Got that taken care of, started more stitching and realized I had my fabby turned the wrong direction, so I was stitching the wrong colors in the wrong place. Urgh! So I put it away for a bit because I was getting so frustrated. I love looking at yours!

  10. Castles is looking very very nice. I'm collecting the patterns each month; does that count? :) Good luck with the HAED; different count or using just 1 strand on the 25 ct will make a lot of difference for you.
